Set in Tirurangadi in Malappuram, a district with the highest population in the state of Kerala, a full-fledged medical facility was a need of the hour in that era.

A man of great business acumen and far-sightedness, P.M. Shahul Hameed founded Janatha Diagnostics back in 1973 when he was just 21, at a time when medical laboratories with advanced facilities were fewer in number. As a visionary, philanthropist and social activist, he knew the potential of such a venture in healthcare sector, which was set for an exponential growth in the coming years. From his humble beginnings as a struggling bread winner who lost his father at the age of two, Shahul Hameed grew up into a compassionate soul who knew the layman’s struggles for survival. Apart from his philanthropic activities, he is a key person of a Chemmad-based charitable hospital for cancer and dialysis. With his benevolence and business expertise, he developed Janatha Ventures into a premier group in the field of medical diagnostic services.
